Kickstarter campaign · $26,400 goal · launches December 2026

Something changes while you sleep

A streaming service rewrites its arbitration clause. A social app quietly expands what it can sell about you. A payment platform slips in a class action waiver before you wake up. You agreed to the old version months ago. You never saw the update. By the time it goes viral on Reddit, the change is already binding.

This is not an accident. Companies have spent years refining consent in their favor. Most of us click "I agree" because we have to — not because we understand what we just accepted. When terms change again, nobody expects us to read every line. Consent becomes a trick, not a conversation.

Clerica exists because everyday people lose rights simply because they cannot track every policy in their lives — not because they do not care, but because the system was designed so caring would never be enough.

What Clerica is

Clerica is personalized consumer rights intelligence. We start with the services you already use — streaming, social, payments, productivity tools — and monitor their public Terms of Service and Privacy Policy pages. When something changes, we do not just ping you. We analyze what changed: line-by-line diffs, version history, and plain-language summaries weighted by what you told us you care about (privacy, hidden costs, data security, and more).

Policy monitoring is our wedge. The mission is a consumer rights platform that helps everyday people understand, protect, and act on their rights online — the kind of protections institutions and corporations already buy for themselves.

We are not a law firm. We do not provide legal advice. We close the information gap so you can decide for yourself.

What's live today (early MVPs)

Clerica is real software you can use now — early MVPs in active development, not a finished product. A small group of early testers is helping us improve reliability and UX every week.

Policy change intelligence — app.clerica.io

  • Monitors Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, and related public policy pages on your chosen services
  • Analysis, not just monitoring: diffs, version history, AI plain-language summaries, impact framing
  • Care Priorities: tell us what matters; we surface those parts of a change first
  • Digest emails, in-app alerts, and a dashboard to review what changed
  • Free plan plus affordable paid plans for people who want more monitoring and features

Class action settlement discovery — clerica.io/claims

  • Browse open U.S. settlements, deadlines, and official filing links
  • A discovery and trust layer — not a claims processor; no auto-enrollment yet
  • Live as an MVP; coverage and polish still expanding

Public policy tracker catalog

  • 1,000+ services in our monitoring catalog
  • 700+ public policy tracker pages on clerica.io

If you back this campaign, you are backing working software — and the work still ahead to make it reliable enough for everyone who needs it.

What this campaign funds

Our funding goal is $26,400. That is the minimum we need to deliver every Kickstarter reward and keep building through 2027. It is not a ceiling — if we exceed 100%, every extra dollar goes toward the same mission after reward obligations are covered.

  • Production infrastructure — 12 months of elevated cloud capacity so monitoring stays fast and stable as backers join
  • Data services — AI analysis APIs, settlement data sources, and email delivery at higher volume
  • Settlement discovery depth — moving our claims discovery layer from local development toward production-grade alerts and UX
  • Browser extension (alpha) — real-time policy awareness while you browse; skeleton exists today
  • Campaign production — video, assets, and outreach so more people hear about consumer rights tools
  • Reward fulfillment — Kickstarter-exclusive access codes, provisioning, and support for every backer tier
  • Founder project labor — 12 months of full-time development, support, and fulfillment (solo founder, Los Angeles, CA)

Project budget

Transparency matters. The Kickstarter project budget breaks down how pledges map to infrastructure, settlement discovery, extension alpha, campaign production, reward fulfillment, and founder labor. Graphic total from the project spreadsheet: $22,940 across phases before the $26,400 all-or-nothing goal (includes taxes and fees).

Roadmap — honest labels

We label everything clearly so you know what exists today, what we are building now, and what is planned for later.

Live MVPs (usable today; reliability ongoing)

  • Policy change monitoring with diffs, AI summaries, Care Priorities, digests, and alerts
  • Class action settlement discovery (browse, deadlines, official links — not auto-enrollment)
  • Free plan, affordable paid plans, and onboarding

Policy monitoring is working but not fully stable yet. It may be inactive for a few days at a time while issues are fixed. This campaign funds making it dependable.

In progress (building now)

  • Monitoring pipeline reliability and UX polish
  • Settlement discovery depth (CourtListener integration, production sidecar)
  • Welcome digest and tier-aware digest customization

Planned (not promised at fulfillment unless labeled beta/waitlist in your tier)

  • Enterprise-grade protections for individuals — professional-grade tiers without a business registration
  • Privacy-first service alternatives — everyday tools that treat privacy and consumer rights more fairly
  • Privacy and data control automation
  • Class action auto-enrollment research — not live today
  • Dispute and appeal support
  • Browser extension GA and mobile app
  • Monitoring beyond the web — smart devices, offline contracts, gym memberships

Why Kickstarter — and why back now

Consumer rights tools should not depend on one person's savings and spare hours. Kickstarter lets us build with the people who need this — not for an investor deck.

The MVPs exist. You can try them before you pledge. This campaign funds making them trustworthy at scale, not starting from zero.

December 2026 is our launch window — a moment when many people resolve to take control of their digital lives. Backing now helps us ship reliability fixes and settlement depth before that wave of attention.

Every backer proves that everyday people do care about their rights — and that a sustainable path toward a more consumer-friendly internet is possible.

Kickstarter reward tiers

Every tier is Kickstarter-exclusive — fulfilled via backer access codes or account provisioning, not public clerica.io pricing. Digital rewards only. Estimated delivery March 2027. Late Pledges stay open after a successful campaign at the late-pledge amounts listed below.

Risks and challenges

Early-stage software

Clerica works today, but issues still surface. Improving reliability is part of what this campaign funds — not a side note.

Policy monitoring stability

Monitoring may be inactive for a few days at a time while issues are fixed. This campaign funds making it dependable.

Solo founder

One person builds, supports, and fulfills rewards. High backer volume increases support load; we sized a reward fulfillment reserve and will communicate if timelines shift.

Timeline estimates

Digital reward codes ship within ~60 days of campaign close (March 2027 delivery window). Beta waitlist invitations roll out as features reach beta through 2027 — not all on day one.

Third-party dependencies

Settlement data, AI APIs, and cloud infrastructure can change pricing or availability. We monitor costs and maintain contingency in our budget.

Scope discipline

We will not promise roadmap items as shipped rewards unless they are live or explicitly labeled beta/waitlist. Class action auto-enrollment, full mobile app launch, and extension GA remain planned — not fulfillment promises for this campaign.

First Kickstarter

This is our first Kickstarter. Clerica is the founder's full-time focus with no other crowdfunding campaigns outstanding.

How we use AI (transparency)

Clerica uses AI as a tool, not a replacement for human judgment or legal counsel.

In the product: large language models help generate plain-language summaries of policy changes, weighted by your Care Priorities. Outputs can be incomplete or inaccurate — always verify against original policy documents. Long term, we want a combination of AI and real human review for accuracy as Clerica scales.

In development: AI acts as a second brain for the solo founder — brainstorming, finding answers, speeding up routine work. All development is done by one person; there is no hidden team.

About the creator

Kevin Lopez is a solo founder based in Los Angeles, California. He started exploring consumer rights tooling more than two years ago and has worked on Clerica full-time since incorporating in December 2025.

He builds the product end-to-end — backend, frontend, monitoring pipeline, billing, and the settlement discovery layer — because he wanted these tools for himself first: tired of companies treating consent as a trick, tired of watching people lose rights because nobody could track every update.

Every backer is proof that this is needed. People are fed up with fine print, bait-and-switch terms, and feeling powerless. Clerica is built to help everyday people, not extract from them.

Frequently asked questions

Is Clerica live software or a concept?

Clerica is real software you can use today. Policy change intelligence is at app.clerica.io and class action settlement discovery is at clerica.io/claims. Both are early MVPs — reliability and polish are ongoing, and this campaign funds making them dependable at scale.

When does the Clerica Kickstarter campaign launch?

The campaign targets a December 1, 2026 launch with a 30-day window ending December 31, 2026. Digital rewards deliver in March 2027. You can preview the project page on Kickstarter before launch.

What is the Clerica Kickstarter funding goal?

The funding goal is $26,400 USD. Kickstarter is all-or-nothing: if the goal is not met by the campaign deadline, backers are not charged. The goal covers infrastructure, settlement discovery depth, reward fulfillment, and 12 months of full-time founder development.

Are Kickstarter rewards the same as clerica.io pricing?

No. Every tier is Kickstarter-exclusive — fulfilled via backer access codes or account provisioning, not public checkout pricing. Late Pledges may continue after a successful campaign at slightly higher amounts listed per tier.

What do I get at the $5 Community Backer tier?

Community Backers get 12 monitored services on Clerica Free (vs 8 publicly), 12 months of settlement deadline reminders on clerica.io/claims, and backer-only product updates. It is a mission-aligned entry point without giving away full Pro access.

Does Clerica provide legal advice?

No. Clerica is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Policy summaries and settlement information are informational only. Always verify against original policy documents and consult a lawyer when you need legal counsel.

What beta features are included in backer tiers?

Beta and waitlist perks mean invitation when a feature reaches beta — browser extension, settlement filters, and Care Priorities updates. They do not guarantee launch dates, mobile App Store GA, or automatic class action enrollment.

What happens if the campaign exceeds 100% of its goal?

The $26,400 goal is a minimum floor, not a ceiling. Additional funding goes toward the same mission after reward obligations are covered — reliability, settlement depth, and roadmap execution. We will communicate in project updates if timelines shift at high backer volume.

Clerica is not a law firm and does not provide legal advice. Policy summaries and settlement information are for informational purposes only. Nothing on this page or in the Clerica product constitutes legal counsel or creates a lawyer–client relationship.
