The Watchlist People Don't Post About on Twitter

Influencer privacy threads always feature the same cast: Meta, Google, TikTok, maybe Apple. Fine. Those companies matter.

The watchlists that actually change people's weeks look nothing like a viral infographic. They look like:

  • A credit union in one metro area.
  • A payroll app your employer chose.
  • A kids' reading platform tied to a school email.
  • A meal kit you forgot you still pay for.
  • A VPN you installed during one news cycle.

Early Clerica users rarely post those lists publicly. They do not need clout. They need diffs when paragraph 9 moves.

The data behind a quiet habit

Clerica's catalog spans 1,000+ services — national brands and long-tail vendors. In a typical month, dozens to hundreds of policies receive detected text revisions.

National names drive headlines. Personal stacks drive "how did I not know this?" moments:

Layer Examples Why it is personal
Money Banks, cards, neobanks, tax prep Arbitration and data sharing move quietly
Family Streamers, cloud photos, school apps One account, multiple humans affected
Work bleed Email, chat, file sync Employer tools touch personal data too
Long tail Gyms, local utilities, indie SaaS Zero Reddit coverage when Terms change

Pull-based grades tell you how a company scored in 2022. Push monitoring tells you what changed last Tuesday on services you still use.

Why people keep watchlists private

Posting your stack is operational security for ordinary life. It reveals where you bank, where your kids have accounts, what health portal you use.

Early users treat Clerica like a credit freeze or a password manager: useful, personal, not performative.

That is also why the product spreads in DMs:

"Add your bank and your streamers. You will get an email when the Terms move. I wish I had this before the household lockout."

No affiliate code. No leaderboard. Just a tool that respects that your agreements are not content.

We incorporated Clerica LLC in December 2025 after two years building the crawl pipeline. Bootstrapped. Solo founder. Production live. Early cohort size is small on purpose — we would rather have five hundred people who open diffs than fifty thousand who treat alerts like spam.

How to build a watchlist in ten minutes

Start with pain — what service ruined a Tuesday last year? Add it first.

Add money and identity — banks, cards, payment apps, tax, health portals.

Add shared household accounts — streaming, cloud storage, family phone plans.

Add work bleed — anything personal data touches through your job.

Skip the performative stack — you do not need to monitor apps you deleted in 2019.

When Clerica emails you, skim highlights on definitions, sharing, dispute, and renewal sections. Thirty seconds beats a dispute you cannot forum-shop.

Ahead of the curve without being paranoid

There is a difference between conspiracy thinking and version control for contracts you already accepted.

Early users are not wearing tinfoil hats. They are the people who learned — once — that "I agree" is not permanent, and decided never to be surprised the same way twice.

Your watchlist does not need to be public to be powerful.

When to add, when to remove

Early users treat watchlists like password managers — living documents.

Add immediately when you create an account with payment info, family sharing, or health data.

Review quarterly — delete services you truly abandoned; add new ones within a week of signup.

Escalate manually when life stakes rise — new baby, new job, new bank, divorce, estate planning. Legal surface area jumps; so should monitoring.

Do not perform — nobody needs to see your list. The diff inbox is for you.

That discipline is what separates a gimmick from a habit.

Example private stacks (archetypes, not prescriptions)

Freelancer stack — Adobe, Stripe, QuickBooks, domain registrar, health marketplace plan.

Parent stack — school portal, pediatric telehealth, family streamers, cloud photos, carrier family plan.

Remote worker stack — employer SSO apps, personal email, VPN, note-taking tool with AI features.

None belong on Twitter. All deserve dated diffs.

Security note

Your watchlist reveals life structure. Clerica stores services you add — treat account security like banking (strong password, MFA). We do not need your passwords to those third-party services.
